This project has evolved over two design projects. The original detail of the homes was to be preserved as much as possible and extensions were critical to get light and warmth into the house. North unfortunately was located where original parking and driveways were, so relocating that to the other side of the block fundamentally changed the connectivity to the yard spaces and thermal comfort. All wet areas were refurbished and a parents retreat created. Kitchen meals and family rooms areas are now flooded with light and connect to the garden and Heritage facades maintained and complimented.
